I have been to the Workaholics. For a Yahoo Office Drop By!
@gary_Burghoff tweeting memories of Battle of the Network Stars is, by a zillion miles, the best thing that has ever happened in the history of media. I can’t even imagine what would come in second to this.
In 1979'ish I went to a filming of it at Pepperdine and came away with Richard Hatch’s autograph. Maybe the best day of my youth.
And for those of you Gen Yay'ers who still haven’t gotten around to studying their history, to help you remember what a great land this once was.
I am dead. Why go on? Media, we’re done here. Let’s all go home.
Feel free to skip the entire last year of TV and just watch this spoilers supercuts from your friends at Yahoo.
Beware! Spoilers Ahoy! A plenty!
Why did no one will me this existed?
Probably the greatest version of the greatest song of the past 200 years performed by the greatest singer.
People need to talk about this more.

of entertainment, into the belly of Price is Right to find out what makes it the most successful show in the history of American television, which is to say the most successful, widely viewed piece of entertainment in the history of civilization. From my daring adventure:
We’ve all seen new cars in our time. When someone buys one these days, neighbors rarely pour out of their houses to dance in the street. In its four decades, “The Price Is Right” has given away literally thousands of cars. But the excitement when George Gray informs the audience that the next prize will be “a brand-new car!” is worthy of a religious revival meeting. The hysteria would put teenage girls screaming at a One Direction concert to shame. Carey, through his vampire makeup, breaks a smile every time. “Cars, cash, and trips — that’s what people want to win,” he offers later. “It’s one of those big purchases — a house and a car. It’s the second-biggest thing people ever pay for their whole life besides their house.”
My 11 Big Questions for Helena Bonham Carter on .
, with the great Tom Selleck. Anyone who understands anything about the history of the X Generation knows that Jim Rockford, Thomas Magnum and Sonny Crockett are the Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost of television detectives who made us who we are. Had no idea what to expect, but was absolutely blown away. He was gracious, funny, thoughtful, intelligent and stayed on the phone for almost an hour in what had been booked as a 15 minute conversation. We covered the big topics, and inevitably, the conversation turned moustachey:
1. Let’s start with the inevitable question for the world’s leading expert: What makes a great mustache?
Well, it means something about the success of “Magnum.” Probably, if you look at the body of my work before “Magnum,” and during, and me since birth, most of the time, I haven’t had one. I just kind of grew it, and then, what happens is that it takes on a ridiculous amount of importance. When “Blue Bloods” started, I said, “You know, he’s a New York City police commissioner. What do you guys think about me playing the character without a mustache because I’d like to change a little bit?” and they said, “Well, we think that’s an interesting idea.” I said, “You’d better check with CBS,” and word came back within a day, “No way.”
2. Were they trying to hire the mustache?
I like to think that Frank Reagan on “Blue Bloods” is more than just a mustache. I also have to be very careful about speaking about my mustache because we had a falling out, and he’s got his own agent now. He’s with Facial Hair Unlimited, and he speaks for himself, and I can get in legal troubles.
If you read one Q and A this week, turn yourself into an informed citizen
Had a fascinating conversation with the great Emily Deschanel about veganism, growing up in LA and the issue closest to my heart, crime fighting. I held her feet to the fire about whether her on screen romance with her co-star is getting in the way of catching killers, whether, in fact, murderers might be escaping and might be on the streets walking among us thanks to her character’s person hi-jinx.
Q: But in the middle of all the love scenes, do you ever want to scream: “There’s a murderer on the loose!” Does their relationship stand in the way of their crime fighting? Are they being irresponsible?
A: I don’t think we’re being irresponsible. It’s nature that you’re going to have relationships in your life and sometimes it’s with the people you work with. But whether it’s romantic or unromantic there’s dynamics and that can play a part in your conversations, in how you approach things. We’re very professional at the Jeffersonian Branch of FBI, and nothing’s gotten in the way of a crime so far.Q: You give us your word that no killer has gotten away because of their romance?
A: I give you my word. No murderers are getting away with anything because of our relationship. If anything, it helps. Because we talk to each other even more, we go home and talk about the cases. Even when we try not to.
Over at Yahoo Movies, to Killing/World War Z star Mirelle Enos including:
Q: Would you be a zombie for Halloween?
A: I don’t think I can go there, but it would be funny to dress my baby as a zombie. Although she has her heart set on being a bunny, so maybe we can make her a baby zombie bunny.Q: Detective Linden was noted for her loyalty to sweaters. What is your favorite sweater?
A: I love a cardigan, a big bulky button down cardigan. My poor husband every time he buys a sweater, I end up wearing it so he finally bought me a whole bunch of men’s sweaters. Everybody makes fun of the Sarah wardrobe, but it’s so comfortable. It’s the most comfortable thing I’ve ever worn. Big old boots, jeans and a sweater, especially in that cold Vancouver weather.

The world is ending and no one is doing anything about it!
Last night’s elimination was the craziest hour of television I’ve ever witnessed. When the machines take over and we’re left having to parcel out one last duffel bag filled with food, this is how it is going to go down.
