CONGRATULATIONS WORLD! YOUR FAVORITE SHOW IN HISTORY HAS ARRIVED.
For any former high school drama student, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC competition shows in which he cast the leads for West End productions of Sound of Music, Joseph and Oliver were like shards of the most special place of our imagination extracted from our brains and blown up to season long size. The series are like the best pre-show warm up exercises you ever did combined with the craziest drama coach combined with most scandalous backstage break-up drama you ever witnessed. It was all of that.
And now he is doing Jesus Christ Superstar.
I’m not even going to try and pretend I have any perspective about this. This is the moment when all my critical safeguards and QA controls come unglued and I fly down the hill, waving arms madly in the air yelling hoorah.
Okay, it would be better if it were Evita. But close enough.
You should probably not watch any TV for the next year or so until this airs in the US so you can absorb the full nuclear powered wallop when it arrives
If you weren’t a hight school drama student, please disregard the above.
